To blend by definition is "To prepare thoroughly intermingling different varieties. To combine into an integrated whole, to produce a harmonious effect" which is the perfect description for the variety of cultures, flavors, experiences and history that goes into the craft fare created right in our own back yard. Distinctive family recipes are passed down and adapted to each new generation making every bite as unique as the chef who prepared it. Each local Palm Beach County food kitchen brings together their unique flavors making the perfect combination of culture mixed with the creativity making each dish a one-of-a-kind experience.

PBC CONVENTION CENTER EXPANSION STUDY
Palm Beach County commissioned Conventions, Sports and Leisure to undergo a convention center expansion study which outlined the trends in events and conventions. One of the main findings was that visitors are looking for a local experience. They prefer small businesses to local chains particularly in food concepts.
With experience tourism trending in place-making, Palm Beach County is in a unique position to access their local small business network to create opportunities in the local economy that significantly enhances their guest experience from start to finish.
According to US Census Bureau data, Black and African Americans are the second largest demographic in Palm Beach County so patronizing local business means local businesses are minority-owned business.

ECONOMIC EQUITY
National calls for social change dominate the news. As a country we face long standing questions of how to create racial equity, one of the key areas of focus is economic racial equity.
In their article from "The New Localism" called How States Can Grow Black-owned Businesses, authors Katz, Gillen, Preis and Velasquez note that:
"There are 124,000 Black-owned employer firms in the US, representing only 2.2 percent of all employer businesses.
A key — but not sole — reason for this is because these firms concentrate in sectors of the economy that pay less and offer fewer opportunities for productive growth."
Lack of access to capital and opportunity for minority-owned businesses are often the results of systemically racist constructs. Unless we actively work to address these inequities and create specific systems and programs to correct these imbalances, we continually perpetuate a system of injustice.
